Club settings

The club settings open with a button on the club page. This is where you decide how others see your club. A preview on the right shows the crest and kits change as you pick.

The tabs are Identity, Crest and kits and Automation. Changes apply after “Save”, and “Discard changes” goes back to what is saved.

Identity

FieldRules
Name3–32 characters, unique. Changes once a season
Short nameExactly three Latin letters, as on a scoreboard
NicknameWhat the fans call the club. Optional
CityThe club’s city

Renaming

  • The name can be changed once a season. Before saving, the game asks you to confirm: “‘Old’ will become ‘New’”.
  • The previous name stays in the history: it shows under “Former names” on the club page, and the seasons in the club history carry the name the club had back then.
  • If the club has already been renamed this season, the field is locked and shows the date from which you can rename it again.

The name, short name, nickname and city go through a filter of forbidden words.

What cannot change

The year of founding and the country are the club’s history. They cannot be changed.

Crest and kits

Colors, crest, kits, short name, nickname and city can change any time: they only affect how the club looks, not how it plays.

Colors

The club’s primary and secondary colors. Pick them from a palette of classic football colors or set your own.

Crest

Three shapes: shield, circle and diamond. The crest is drawn in the club’s colors. A small crest with the three letters of the short name stands next to the club in the table and the fixtures.

Home and away kits

For each kit, pick a pattern and three colors:

  • Pattern: solid, stripes, checks or sleeves.
  • Shirt, pattern and collar, shorts.

Until you design a kit yourself, it follows the club’s colors: the home kit has a shirt in the primary color and shorts in the secondary one, the away kit the other way round. “Back to the club’s colors” returns a kit to that.

What kit a match is played in

The game picks the kits for each match, and you see them on the match page:

  1. The hosts always play in their home kit.
  2. The guests play in their home kit too, if their shirt is easy to tell from the hosts’ shirt.
  3. If the two shirts are too alike, the guests wear their away kit.
  4. If the away shirt is too close to the hosts’ shirt as well, the guests come out in a reserve kit: white or black, whichever is further from the hosts’ color.

Blue and navy or red and claret count as alike, while white and sky blue count as different.
